Typical Reader Profile - Charlie.

Charlie is a 16 year old boy in Year 11 studying at St. Joseph's College. Charlie enjoys to swim, draw, socialise, play his saxophone and many more thrilling hobbies! He wants to be a successful and well known person in the Media industry but at the moment he is not sure whether he will be either carrying on his education at a sixth form or college or, going out in the big world and look for a job! He is now stuck with a dilemna and is not sure which path to follow into. This is where my magazine comes in. It will give him detailed stories on previous students that have either gone into the work path or further education path. My magazine will give him detailed run downs about further education.

Change of Magazine Name: LIFE (Leading Into Further Education)

My Magazine name will be changed from 'Together' to 'LIFE'. The reason behind the change is because as I photographed my models for my magazine, I realised the shots were more of a change from Year 11 to Sixth form and because I would have more knowledge of leaping from Year 11 to Sixth form as I have experienced it myself and it is still fresh in my memory!

The Magazine will be aimed at students aged 14-16. This is because this is the age group this magazine is designed for. It will include stories of previous students making this big leap, students that chose not to take the Further Education path and go straight into work and how they are all coping. It will also contain tips and tricks on how to lead a steady Further Education life, such as handing in work on time but. not stressing yourself out at the same time.

Pre Lim Front Cover.

These are 2 of many photos of which I have taken and may be used as my Pre Lim Front Cover. Whichever picture I plan to use, I will crop out the person (in this case, Sasha Lashkariani) with use of a photo manipulating program (Photoshop).

Typical Reader Profile - Shivani.

Shivani is an average 14 year old teenage girl studying at NMBEC. She has been at NMBEC for 3 years now and the day for choosing her subjects for GCSEs is closing in! She is slightly worried about choosing what subjects. In Shivani's spare time, she enjoys reading, writing poems, baking and swimming. So, she is eager to know what subjects will be suitable for her yet also enjoyable. Shivani says that she nervous on choosing her subjects as she may be taking on new subjects that were not on offer in year 7, 8 and 9 such as Business Studies. This is where the magazine will come in and help her get some knowledge and advice from previous students.

Name of the Magazine.

The name of my school magazine will be called 'Together' I am going to call it 'Together' because it can have several meanings, one being that this is the magazine that as everything and anything about the school and it's local area together in one place, secondly meaning that this magazine is the type that a whole family can read, for example, it will include any new, interesting or weird activities that come up in school for the kids and teenagers to know, any recent events or up to date news for the adults and just pure entertainment for everyone! Third and final meaning, it shows how NMBEC is a big family with people of all races together.

Target Audience (School Magazine)

The target audience for my school magazine will be the students at the actual school and for their parents and could also include anyone in their household. This means that as long as the audience can read, the magazine will be suitable for them. I did this because in order to attract the student or parent to buy it, it will need to be some sort of family magazine which anyone can pick up in the house and read it for leisure or just to kill time.

Amazon gadget.

On the right hand side I have added an Amazon music gadget. It shows you music from Amazon, it also has all types of genres so it's also a way of advertising music to anyone on my blog.

Target Audience (Music Magazine)

The target audience for my magazine will be pitched at people who enjoy listening to mostly indie, alternative and rock music. I think I will also try and include other genres but, at the same time, i will be a similar genre to the actual magazine. For example, Ed Sheeran is a rising singer in the music industry and his genre of music is mainly rap but it also has a twist of acoustic and indie. More artists will be looked into as I progress into this project.

Homework

For Monday you must have:
Completed all ideas, know your target audience and have come up with a name for your magazine

Have written a detailed 'typical reader' profile

Posted an entry on your blog with the above information.

The pictures above are taken by me (Karwin Lam) and edited by me and Deborah King. The first and last picture was edited by me and the second and third was done by Deborah. Our aim was to show Croydon that Ethnicity plays a big roll in our school and we have people from everywhere and they are thoroughly enjoying themselves at NMBEC! The first picture, I would describe it as a body shot, showing the whole body of everyone. The second picture an Establishment shot. To show what the school looks like, the third picture would be a mid shot, only being able to see half the person's body. It shows how people can revise and enjoy themselves at the same time. Finally, the fourth picture is also a mid shot, only going down to the waist.

3rd post.

Hi, I'm Karwin and this is my third post on blogspot and this blog will be dedicated to my school project, which is to design a music magazine and run this blog. I will try my best to interest you with the type of music I enjoy which is, anything ranging from indie to rap. I hope my magazine will be a varied music magazine where it does not just focus on one specific genre but it will be a big range so it can attract different groups of target audience.

Thank you.
